Re: Beneteau Sense 50

Dear In the Mood,

What is the 'little mod' you are talking about? Is it to access the engine better? or even to take the engine out completely god forbid I ever have to do this. As someone said, with the Noval sliding door, access to the engine in general and to the water pump specifically is extremely difficult, particularly if you have a washing machine in the port side rear compartment.

As Jose said, we have the Noval electrical door and we are wondering whether it is possible or not to take it out and replace it with the panel door you have on yours. Possible to send a picture how it is designed?

Best, Robert

Re: Beneteau Sense 50

Here is another set of questions

After 4 years of owning now 2 Sense 50"s it is clear that we will never use the port lazarette as a crew cabin. As such, I removed the sliding steps that severely limited access to all the systems.

My questions
1) has anyone built storage shelves above the bunk?

2) has anyone openned access to space underneath the bunk?

3) has anyone installed a scuba tank compressor? Where?

Any other projects that you have done to increase access, storage, safety, usefulness etc?

Thanks

Jose

Re: Beneteau Sense 50

Agree not a good crew cabin unless you don't like your crew. I don't have pictures but used a number of medium size plastic containers on the berth. I ran an adjustable line from the front to the back to hold the containers in place. Space below is limited on my boat. A fuse box takes up a fair amount of space and the rest isn't big enough to make it worth while for me. I glassed a couple brackets high up on the outside and ran an aluminum bar down the side. I store fishing poles and extra lines. I also ran a bar down the inside where I also store lines, but I wanted to leave that open as that is the access to the engine on the port side.

Re: Beneteau Sense 50

I have a sense 50 ,2011 , and had many modifications since it looks like the designer never sail and never used that boat. The position of the black water valve, the fact that if the front head door is open you cant open the master cabin door , if the front head door open you can't turn the lights and so on. I will send details and pictures to those who like it.

Re: Beneteau Sense 50

Very interesting

For picture 101758 (bilge floorboards) there appear to be some pipes visible under the clear panels, did you reroute anything

For picture 101736 (galley)
What is the housing for?

For picture 102016 (waterchest?)
What is this?

Re: Beneteau Sense 50

1-under the clear floor there is the bilge pump + sensors and the seacocks of both a.c. units.

2- the white unit in the galley is a cooker hood. the original locate far from where it is needed. ther are two fans and down light so u see what's cooking..

3-this is a sump that collect water from ac units (the tray that collect the condensation) and from the guest room shower (eliminate the need for shower pump and the switch )
locate just before the clear panels on the floor.

What kind of lube and where? On the rails? Mine is noisy so I may try.

This is my second Sense 50. Love the boat, hate the companion way. My interior control panel failed last month in route from Grenada to PR. Major headache in using the emergency pull to manually open companionway. I've ordered a new Noval control panel as I continue to inquire on replacement options

Jose
From where did you order the Noval control panel and do you have a part number?
