Beneteau 38...the wife loves it!

I've been following the previous thread on the new Beneteau 38. Initially, I just didn't get or like the layout. However, this design has grown on me and I'm intrigued enough to review it further and consider this as a potential for our new upcoming purchase. A big part of the intrigue is that when I showed my wife she said "now, that is something I could spend weeks cruising on". I think the more she really likes it, then frankly the more we'll sail, which is what I'm always pushing for. As they say: "happy wife --happy life.."

This boat is now on our potential list.

Does anyone have any pricing, including the various options for this boat. I just can't seem to find anything around.
Also looking for comparative pricing on the Oceanis 35.

Would that be, like: "Nowhere to sit down below on port tack?"

To the OP, you might want to remind her of that "feature."

Good point, though there is a single sitting area on the starboard side near the forward berth. But good point.

Yes, coastal cruising for weeks.

Some think that that is no cruising Seriously these are the threads that will interest you. I suggest you to post there: there is where are the ones that love that boat, some owners too. I like it too but on this forum half seems to love it and half seems to hate it

For a coastwise cruiser I'll bet it'd be fine. Offshore, no thank you. If you're not headed out to blue water the most important thing is to keep your wife enthused. Happy wife, happy life.

I'd take his Beneteau 38 over your much smaller 31 offshore any time...

Looks like Ikea designed the interior, with commensurate quality of materials.

If you like it and your wife likes it then that boat is a winner! Get the boat that fits your needs and don't let any boat snob tell you otherwise

Re: Beneteau 38...the wife loves it!

I took a long hard look at the Benateau.
If you like open plan then OK.

This design is perfect if you like it that way.

However, I prefer privacy and enclosed cabins. When you put the bulkhead back in, loses all the 'difference'. Doesnt make it a bad boat..... but it doesnt actually show the magic by having a conventional bulkhead either.

If your wife like it, go for it.

I prefer the propper cabins.
