Been looking at

Hi been looking and talking to several boat owners and wanted to ask here what people think of MacGregor - 26C as a first boat with a goal to sail from UK to around eruope in. Maybe to us once I got more skilled found several online nearly new they say plan to vist them for the region of £10k to 15k

Great starter boat but a bit small for comfortable off shore cruising. Been done, I'm sure, but not recommended. Pay particular attention to the standing rigging on the McGregor you are considering. The company is (or was) out of business when I tried to find a mast for a friend a few years ago.

Search "Macgregor" and you'll get a sense of what this Forum thinks of those boats.

(You might also update your profile to say where you're based. It's helpful when you start threads that are pertinent to a particular sailing area).
