Beautious boat .... what is she?

http://cruisersforum.com/photopost//...sort=1&thecat=

Just went for sandpaper, huh? If you used one of the 'modern' co-polymers you wouldnt have to sand so often.

Nice sheer, LOOKS like a boat!!!! Who is the designer? builder?

regards
RichH

she is an H-28, all wood, built by mirton (sp) long in marion, ma around 1954. the dog house was added sometime later. the herreshoff design was also produced in glass.

I should have been clear that this is L. Francis Herreshoff's design. L. Francis also designed the Rozinante. Nathanial Herreshoff designed, among many, the Buzzard's Bay 25, which is another amazing piece of eye candy. She is 33 feet LOA. The 25 refers to LWL because, as old sailor dogs will say, it's all about what's in the water. If you like this stuff, go to Kingman Yacht Center and find their brokerage section. They have a few amazing boats listed right now. Ged Delaney is one of those "special brokers". The photos I posted were from Coecles Harbor Boat Yard, Shelter Island, NY. They maintain some amazing yachts. Steve Corkery is a great contact in that area. Thats where we found (actually Ged found) our Bristol 31.1.
