Bavaria Sailboat Rudder Bearings

HELLO ALL

I am looking to replace my Rudder Bearings on my Bavaria 42. Does anyone know where I can get them in North America? Bavaria wants an arm and a leg for them and who knows when they would deliver them. The upper bearing is banging around in my rudder post.

What sort of bearings are they? Rollers, plain, sleeve???

It is unlikely that Bavaria actually manufactures them, so some sort of industrial supply house (Graingers?) will be able to help you.

Are the bearings plastic sleeve type? Try Igus. I replaced my 2-1/2 inch diameter flanged sleeves with new Torlon bearings fo $7.50
