Battery replacement

My current set up uses two banks (2 & 4) total of 6 Automobile Batteries- it is effective & only requires topping off with Distilled H2O a few times a year. Is it ok to replace them one at a time, or must the whole group be done at once?

Re: Battery replacement

You should replace together every battery of a bank.

Re: Battery replacement

generally, all the batteries of a bank are changed.
do the following test: fully charge the batteries, disconnect them, test each 24-48 hours later,
if the difference between each is small (0.1V) and the voltage still acceptable, you can leave all like that longer

As long as the other old batteries aren't bad to point of damaging the new batteries, then yes you can replace them one at a time. But if one of the old batteries has a short it will drain all the batteries damaging the new one. But then you can experience the same with all new batteries.

it isn't ideal, but it is "OK"
