HI All,
Next weekend my gf and I are travelling down to
Houston to look at a Baba 35. I have sailed a fair amount but never owned a
boat. I am relatively handy and good at teaching myself.
Here is a link to the brokers ad (Mods: if its not cool direct links to either
broker or yachtworld ads please delete):

Do any members have insights or experiences with this particular
boat or about the line in general? Strengths or weakness? Things to consider about
boats of this type or vintage? I've done a fair amount
research online recently and have seen articles in sailing.com, bluewaterboats.com, some threads on SSCA, etc
I've always been keen on
boats fo this type (except for all the
teak on this particular one; proportedly there were some built without all the teak). I would think very seriously about stripping all finish off and letting the
teak be natural (but htat's the topic for another thread).
It is in my
price range and talking to the
broker leaves me with no doubt that the
current owner is open to negotations which would leave me
money for a
refit. My total
budget for this
project is is approx. $75,000.
Any and all input and insights are very much appreciated
Thanks, Sam
