Anyone ID this sailboat?

As it says in the title. A friends grandfather is looking to have it gone and I was thinking a fun daysailer project.

Looking at this as a stepping stone to my eventual blue water adventures.

Re: Anyone ID this sailboat?

Hi Cramil and welcome to the forum. I suspect the lack of response to now is because you have listed it in the Multihulls thread - and whatever the boat may be, she is decidedly not a multihull! Its difficult to say from the photo as I can't see the underbody/transom/rudder. It does look a bit like a Tanzer 22. however.

Re: Anyone ID this sailboat?

I think Tanzer is right on. Kind of a sad Tanzer though.....and an outright sacrilege being posted on this section of the forum.

Re: Anyone ID this sailboat?

Thanks for the assistance I'll focus some research on the Tanzers. I swear I thought I clicked on MONOhull I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to her! Any way a mod could move this appropriately?

The multihull goddess has granted a pardon, but if you're going to start out on a monohull, you're going to have to learn how to heel.

Thank goodness. You wouldn't want this fellow going to the "dark side" so early.

It would be one of the first smaller stepping stones. How's your sailing experience. Ever had a class and read some?

Re: Anyone ID this sailboat?

Tanzers were so common when I started racing on big boats 40 years ago. Tanzer History - Tanzer 22 Class Association

There were several on Saginaw Bay in Michigan. Nice sailing boat.
