Re: Anyone heard on painting a sail with outdoor paint?

personally never heard of this very novel approach

but if it works, it works !

there is some flexible paint i've used on a RIB with excellent results. designed for tautliner trucks n called tautflex. this may even work better ?

interesting idea... thanks

cheers,

I think sailorchick painted her sails but I’ve not seen her posting in awhile so can’t confirm

She confirmed it in 2018 if you review the early pages of the thread..
Fusia was the chosen colour to blend with the rest of the boat..

Re: Anyone heard on painting a sail with outdoor paint?

The stuff I used in post 70 lasted 3 years without a single chip, until I replaced the sail for other reasons. The best application is a sail that is in it's golden years. (MDR inflatable paint).

I used Dulux Weathershield semigloss acrylic outdoor paint

Welcome to CF Hiko and I hope you have fun here.
I've painted a jib for a bit of fun.
Kids all did their hand and foot prints in different colours, the odd tree, a sun etc. JUst cruddy cheap paint from Pete's Emporium.
Paint certainly sticks well.
