any steel yacht owner from Annapolis area with little time to spare?

Hi there;
Is there any steel yacht owner from around Annapolis willing to help? There is a boat I am interested in on the hard in Annapolis but since I am across the pond in Poland I would like to ask for some help in checking the boat out. I'd like to ask your opinion on some basic stuff, like the first impression etc. Pls do not advise on surveyors as I'm not interested. best regards Kris

Please don't interpret the lack of responses to your plea as being ignored.

I live in Annapolis, but your query was directed at steel yacht owners here. I can tell you they are practically non-existent. Having sailed out of here for about 40 years, I suspect I could count the number of steel yachts with a local hailing port on the stern on the fingers of one hand. I've seen quite a few world cruisers passing through with foreign registration, but not local steel boats.

The vast majority of the boat owners here do all or nearly all of their sailing on the friendly waters of the Chesapeake Bay with its mud and sand bottoms and have no need for strength beyond what fiberglass provides. Not at all like the European yacht population.
