Any Information on a Shpountz 44-40

Hi All,
I'm considering the purchase of a gaff rigged wood schooner, Shpountz 44-40. Does anybody have any info or experience on one of these boats.

An amazing adventure for all who sail in her. I am so very jealous. I blame my parents that I wasn't born rich.

There's a Shpountz 44-40 for sale in France. Perhaps that's what you are interested in OP? A few pics and the broker's brochure.

Thank you Bil56 for the info. I currently looking at one built in 1985 and so far (prior to haul out and based on my humble and non-surveyor opinion) it appears to be in excellent and well maintained condi

Oh yeah, jogged the memory, WoodenBoat mag had a feature article on them back in the day, I was enthralled.
A cargo of rum, a couple of swivel guns, and a crew of lusty wenches, and off we go.
Well, one can dream I suppose.

hello everyone, I am an amateur builder of a Shpountz 44-40 in France, there are several for sale, it is a good boat when you take the time to learn how to operate it, a real pleasure and a real trailer on the water, good choice
