Any Info About the Endurance 35/37

Hi all, I am currently in the market for a good coastal/blue water cruiser from 35-40 foot for around $60k in Australia. I have found an endurance 35 for a reasonable price and would love to hear any info anyone has on this design or if there might be another good design that would suit. I have also looked at Adams 35 also.
Cheers

Re: Any info about the endurance 35/37

Had some friends who built an Endurance 35 from a bare hull back in the 70's... name of the boat was 'June 8'. They finished her off beautifully and buddy boated around Vancouver Island with them. They left us in Victoria, BC and headed to Hawaii, sailed the islands, had a child and ended up about 2 years later nearly losing the boat in the hurricane that decimated the fleet in Cabo San Lucas in the early eighties.
Caught up with them again in San Francisco and spent time sailing the Bay with them.
It was a cutter rig, cut away forefoot, very roomy below and wonderful visiblity from the cockpit. Seakindly, great in a blow but not the fastest mouse in the cage.
My guess is she would well suited for coastal passagemaking in OZ and very safe to take to New Zealand if you were inclined... hope this helps, Capt Phil

i have just purchase one in the United Kingdom, sloop rig, she is a beauty, but heavy. She sail like a dream, but slow. So we fits very well together. A safe ship.
I'm sure you will go on love her

I have one in Sydney and really do love her. Checkout our footage onYouTube at :

She sails beautifully but not fast with a wonderful motion. In harbour she is steady like a rock. If there is a swell she rolls quite a bit and hobby horses due to the short waterline length and overhangs but when she sails her waterline increases and she finds her groove. Very sturdy and built like a brick shithouse. She is heavily rigged with 4 side stays each side, 2 backstays and with cutter rig it has 2 forestays too. I recommend the sloop rig as it sails well in light wind. We plan to sail her on passages eventually once ready. Good luck with your boat hunting!

The OP was looking in May of 2011, so I'm guessing they're sorted by now.
