Entropy is Amel 50 hull number 63. She'll be completed on 14th February, and the handover is on 28th March. Lots more pictures to follow...

Apparently an Amel 50 lost her mast recently in the Caribbean. The entire crew arrived safely back at the marina and Amel dispatched a team to assess the causes which are at this time still under investigation.

While a causal link has not been established, Amel's rig supplier wants to proceed with a modification of the ends of the first level spreaders, per a communication from Amel's CEO, Emmanuel Poujeade.

Was it Thula that got dismasted? Was on her in Las Palmas before the ARC+. We were down the dock.

The forestay was the initial point of failure which strongly suggests the forestay was damaged by the light wind electric furler because the light wind halyard was too loose and wrapped the forestay damaging it.
