Looks like everything about this boat is very well thought out, from ventilation and various system.
Not a fan of the Japanese style bath and the claustrophobic berth.
Very generous fuel capacity.


What are your thoughts?

Wckoek the boat builder must have had an old aluminium garden shed laying around and just welded it on the deck. Did you see the welds above the cabin windows if thats what they are? You think they would have used the best welder in the yard to do them.
Its also interesting to see those front opening fridges appearing more often on yachts now. Same with the portable Engel, that is a real trend that has been happening for a while and I really think it makes sense.

We recently installed a front opening Isotherm refrigerator in an RV camper build my wife and I did. Every single time I opened it: my feet and the floor got cold and the pump turned on. Also, the insulation was pretty sad on the thing- about 1.25-1.5 inches. We added a 2 inch thick extra layer everywhere we could, but they put the air cooled/exchanged condenser and pump under the fridge- so the pump essentially heats the bottom of the fridge up at all times and there is no room to increase the insulation above it, so we just concentrated on venting the heat away..

Its certainly very convenient for regular access to whats in it- as long you dont mind sitting on your haunches or bending over to the floor. But then again, certainly a big compromise on efficiency compared to the classic top opening and remote pump installation.

Overall, my wife liked it better. But I doubt someone less athletic would. I found the only way to load it properly after a grocery run was to literally sit on the floor.

I really kind of like that boats "work boat" aesthetic- but agree with Fore & Aft that those welds are seriously ugly goobers- which to me does not inspire confidence in the build quality overall. If they put those goobers at eye level on deck- what did they hide in the bilge?

Why does a sailboat need 4900 liters of fuel, and what does that much extra weight do to its performance?

I agree that 4900 liters is a bit too much, I would aim for half of that, say 2500 liters - 600 gallons or maybe 700 gallons if you use a lot of generator.
That amount is like carrying fuel to burn more fuel.

My Meta Voyager 47 holds 6227 liters of diesel. The advantage is you bunker the fuel when it is cheap. Mine also serves as part of the ballast so the last 1000 liters you don’t really want to use unless desperate.

At 1.1 liters per NM fuel burn for both engines without using the sails at all, we have enough range to cross most oceans non stop.

I agree though about the pilothouse welding looks rather amateurish or something I would do myself.

Having grown up in Japan, I do appreciate the “ofuro” Japanese style bath. The rest of the mechanical installation looks extremely well done to high specs and certainly not recreational grade.

If I was in the market for yet another boat I would look hard at this one.

I had seen this boat some months back. I looked at it a bit asking why the low price. The more I looked the more I understood.

It is a basalope, neither beast nor fowl.

And not well executed. Look at the braces on the pilot house to the coach roof.

It will be a steal for a special someone, who is not me.

I finally looked at all the rest of t photos. I really like it aside from the house.....and the yanmar air cooled generator.

Anyone who’s ever heard a ydg run at 3600 rpm can imagine what this thing sounds like!

I like their take on a bridge deck - do you call it a sump deck?

You are going to need that watertight door from cockpit to pilot house.

A few interesting options, but it looks pretty robust.

That looks like one helluva boat to me. Especially a that price.
No I dont like the tall cabin aesthetically, but it allows a lot of real nice features. I love a saloon up, with galley up design personally. Also, walking forward with that cabin at sea you can stand up and hold on, not have to bend over for a hand rail.

She's surely not one that makes you smile as you row away in the dinghy... unless you are realizing that as soon as you get in the car you won't have to look at her any more.

It is a power vessel with aux sails.


Other than this, nothing not to like. Given her age, you want to check for corrosion first hand.


Make sure she is insulated too - Alloy and steel boats can get super hot in the tropics.
