OLD27 - a number of your pictures look like the inside of my bow
water tank">fresh
water tank, beneath my vee birth. The tank vee shaped with the
hull making up two of the three walls. I noticed a few small bits of fibreglass in the water so drained it, cut the top off...sanded down all of the
interior, vacuumed it and wiped it down, then painted on water-quality
epoxy from progressive
epoxy...also bought Devoe Bar-Rust 233H, that Atomvoyages.com used to coat his
fresh water tank as back up in case the progressive epoxy fails. Tank holds about 50 gallons. Installed a 6"
inspection port in the top and fibreglassed the top back in place. What I failed to do was add baffles when I had removed the top. Two yellowish pictures (1 with outlet & 1 with top wall removed) are walls of tank prior to applying epoxy...third picture (white) is after 1 coat...
Almost forgot to mention, the
hull is 1" solid fibreglass below waterline in my 1978 Bristol, so no concerns about strength. thnks
