Alberg 37

looking for an Alberg 37 in rough shape. Anyone out there know of anything? It would be coming back to the great lakes so any boats on the west coast are almost out of my price range. Help appreciated. Thanks.

Also know as a Whitby 37, everything you need to know is here: http://bluewaterboats.org/alberg-37/

Good boats, hate where the gallery sink is on the mk1. There was a book written about a family cruising one called "the shoe". We can close to buying one a few years back but after the survey couldn't settle in a price due to a hammered engine.

Re: Alberg 37

I happen to really like Albergs designs, but the Pearson boats all seem to have very bad gelcoat. I have passed on 2 Alberg 35s in the last year because of really bad gelcoat. There are many boats of that era, that are similar and good boats, so you might think of what is convenient to you rather than a specific design. _____Grant.

Re: Alberg 37

Ours is not a big project boat, she is a rare ketch design, for the right price we might be interested in a sale. We love this boat, but she does draw a bit much for our area, which is Fl/Bahama. She needs deck painted and new non skid, some minor floor work. <600 hours on Perkins 50 hp. New sails, new dodger/bimini/awning...

Re: Alberg 37

Maybe you know about the Alberg 37 owners association? If not, Google A37 owners, they maintain an active listserve with several boats for sale. If I Remember correctly one A37 is for sale on the hard in the Caribbean for $25k, needs some work. I actually called the owner some months who, he has bought a new boat and cut his price on the alberg to move it. Grenada or wherever it is, is not ideal for showing a boat, but it might be right up hour alley. These are fantastic sea boats, even if they need some work. Good luck if you should decided to move forward.
