Unfortunately, after I posted, I went to see how much room I had. I'm 6' and there is maybe a half inch above me. You would be ducking all the time

Pearson 36,1985 thru 1990 version, Large aft head, plenty of headroom,
wide beam and good engine access, had one years ago and sailed the Bahamas and the keys.

Re: Aft head, sub-35', tall guy, prospects
Thanks John,
I think that this configuration does become more common with the larger boats; it seems quite sensible.

Crumudgeon,
Was this a particular year or variant? The only plan I have found places the head to starboard, just forward amidships.

No, I was too focused on the "tall" part. Mark Ellis, who designed the Nonsuch boats (and also the Niagara 35), is 6-4, so they have plenty of headroom. The late Ted Hood was also 6-4, so you will find lots of headroom in his boats, including the Bristols and the Little Harbors. But most of Hood's boats have the head midships, so that it can be shared by the occupants of the v-berth with those in the main cabin or quarterberth.

Crumudgeon,
I think the Niagara also has the head in a similar location. It might be a good compromise. I think that, as with many things, it depends how you use the boat.

Re: Aft head, sub-35', tall guy, prospects
BooDog,
If you are still in search for a quality cruising sailboat that can accommodate your 6'2" frame (I am 6'2" also), I can suggest a Nonsuch 30 Ultra. I am selling mine. If you are interested, you can PM me for the details.
Thanks,
Ken
