Only if you can't work underwater. You can pull the prop under water and with the right tool you can replace the bearing but you can't do it while holding your breath.

Wondering JC12, did you purchase the CC27?
If I were in the market for a 40 plus year old boat, a fresh water CC that was owned by a retired engineer and had a 2cyl Yanmar diesel (was it...with a lot of new parts installed)
would be at the top of my list.
People are people, but engineers are usually good boat owner when it comes to
maintaining their boats. ...see wiring in pic

As a mechanical engineer myself, I thank you for the compliment.
That may explain why my boats have always sold so quickly, and for good prices.

My personal experience has been that people with lots of money can also be good boat owners, since they are not afraid to throw their wallets at a problem to make it go away.
