Center cockpit and a stern master cabin too? Ketch or sloop? full or fin keel?

If you really want a dinghy garage in a boat that size you could create it yourself, by eliminating the aft cabins. Obviously that's not a popular use of space in a vessel that size.

Haha Unicorn 37 [emoji23] I wonder why nobody has tried to design such a model!

Hmm why is eliminating aft cabins not a popular use of space? You can have midship cabin instead.

pirate Re: <40' monos with Deck Saloon and Dinghy Garage?

All sorts of reasons..
A 37ftr will likely have a waterline length of say 32ft.. your dinghy is say 11ft so that means the engine will have to be located maybe 15ft from the stern, result a very long shaft or the rudder brought forward (saildrive) so as to be effective under motor.. how will that affect sailing performance..
Accommodation below deck is now around 17ft below deck and whatever you can squeeze out of a pilothouse with likely high windage to give headroom.
A great one design project but doubt it'd be a big commercial success.
Davits or foredeck are perfectly adequate for the majority in the trade off.

I am not a designer so take my opinions for what they are worth..
Nothing, Zilch, Nada, Nani mo nai..

Re: <40' monos with Deck Saloon and Dinghy Garage?

A few European boats have a Liferaft Garage built into the transom.

I really believe that is as close as you will get.

All boats are a compromise.

A Dinghy Garage on a 40 footer is, IMHO, a compromise too far.

If you're willing to go European, you might want to look into the Holland Jachtbouw 37. It's ticking all your boxes from nice interior space, a raised deck-salon to a decent sized dingy garage.

Here in Europe, we use metric for a long time. No feet, toes or sillyputties.
