Sitting here in nanny cay studying for the 101 test tomorrow and thinking about a
boat I looked at the other day.
Bvi yatchs has a
Bavaria 36 listing that does not seem too bad for a first
boat. Has good
sails and a new
yanmar with 400 hours on it.
Now before the bashing starts....how does it sound for a first boat already down in the bvi's ? I am only looking at having it for a year or two. After I go back to
work I will
purchase a boat for a keeper.
The boat looks slightly used in most respects. It was taken in on
trade from a horizon yatchs
sale, they are the owners. Brian said what
price I could pick it up for, which is significantly less than asking. So this has really turned into getting a good deal on a boat that I am not in love with, but good enough to sail a season or two on. As you can guess, no
wind or
solar and no
autopilot.
So pass on the cookie
cutter boat or take a chance. I will more than likely sail it to
Grenada and back to
Bvi.
