2018 Golden Globe Race

"In celebration of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston’s historic 1968 non-stop, world first, solo circumnavigation of the globe, in the Sunday Times “Golden Globe” yacht race, a new “Golden Globe Race” will be staged on it’s 50th Anniversary, in 2018."

Looks like they are pretty strict about what types of boats can enter the race and I noticed that there are no trimarans approved at all.

Yes they are being very strict . I didn't notice the part about no tri's . I did notice the part about no electronics .

Re: 2018 Golden Globe Race

There is a documentary on Netflix and Youtube about the last race. The guy who was in the trimaran ended up committing suicide. They are only allowing 20 participants and it's by invitation only. I wonder what kind of boat will win?

The less outdated and less slow of all outdated and slow sailboats that are the only ones allowed on that race.
