I have 1967 seadog 30 bought her in 2009 in pristine condition, enormous build
displaces 7 tons. The op would get a good deal if he bargains and have plenty left for a mild refurb.

Mr. bigman1: ? how do you 'wear a
boat out' ? my rude answer = you must be joking... or not sailing ...
If you sail as little as 2 months a year and keep your boat the rest of the year inside a hall you might keep it longer...
if you sail your boat all year around it will get damaged in many places... I do sail since 7 years around the world in all kind of
weather and had to replace the odd things...
charter boats are sailed and heavily used by the customers in nearly all countries all year round and a
charter company will sell it when they find out that the costs of maintenace are much to high to keep the boat.
Besides, if you have a charter company you are able to buy boats from the manufacturer a lot cheaper than 'normal' people do, and you always look for the 'cheapest' version of it...
I don't think I have to explain more about how boats and all in them are getting old and worn out ?
