We had a 1999 C36 mark II, and it was a sweet sailing boat with plenty of room for a couple. Every
current and former owner I’ve spoken to loved their C36, noting the sailing character, good build quality and value. Stainless standing
rigging in
salt environment is suspect after 10 years, and certainly 20+ is pressing your luck. Wing
keel will not point as well as my fin
keel, but you’ll find more
anchorages with that extra 18 inches. Suggest looking at new
sails as many owners delay purchasing as they do not appreciate how much better the boat will perform. Only issues I had cruising it was a ridiculously small
holding tank (15 gallons) only gives you a week, even with an
electric head. There is an active owners group with plenty of support and technical guidance at:

Agree with Reeve21 that $90K sounds high for the boat & dinghy, and perhaps you should recheck your comps. Of course, the quality of the boat in question and recency of upgrades is paramount. My well-maintained C36 with
inflatable sold for about $75 in the middle of the covid seller’s market, and I thought I took the guy. Also, 600 hours on the engine of a 23 year old boat? Do they have proof it was repowered?
