1990 Catalina/Morgan 50

Greetings,

I am considering a Catalina/Morgan 50 ft., built 1990.

I now own a 44 Irwin. I single hand out of Ft Lauderdale and when I retire will be heading to the Bahamas and back down to the Caribbean.

I would appreciate ANY input about these boats.

It was a wing keel giving it only 5'5 draft which I like. But how does the wing keel affect sailing performance, tacking , tracking and most of all reversing under power.

I have a dock in Ft. Lauderdale where I have to spin around in a canal 100 ft wide. I accomplish this with my Irwin 44 doing a back and fill- wheel hard over then in and out of forward-reverse using prop walk to turn.
Would a wing keel be different?
