1982 Tanzer 7.5

I am totaly new to sailing and this forum so I'm full of questions. Like what do you think about the 1982 Tanzer 7.5? . Also I am on the west coast and would like to sail to Alaska maybe mexico whats a good boat on a small budget may something with some head room?.
