I am looking at one this week and would appreciate any advice any is willing to offer on these boats. TIA.

I have run one a few times. Very roomy. Sail OK too.

if they have not as yet, tanks need attention or replacement, could cost from 3 to 15 grand

toe rails leak if they have not been attended to, you can tell if wood laminate is rotting or discolored or water stains just underneath in cabin, as much as 8 grand to have someone pull them up, clean the grove and reset,

chain plates are easy to get to on the E43, check them

mast steps should be looked at as the base will root-rust in time

these boats are great but underpowered and the engines are 30 years plus old and might need rebuild at the very least.
