1974 Ericson

Anyone have any knowledge of this make ?
I have heard of them , but never knew anyone that owned one .
going to be sailing in the Great Lakes {Erie }.

I've known some Ericsons and thought well of them. We cruised in the Bahamas in the 1970's with a friend on his Ericson and us on our Morgan.

Huge changes from 1st gen (modified full keel) through 2nd gen (some of my all time favorites) to 3rd gen (heavy IOR influence) up to late models taken over by pacific seacraft (expensive and badass, way out of budget...)

Seems the general consensus is well built slightly above average, some known issues, some race rule influence issues, good construction but not up to custom build standards.

Large group of ericson owners communicate and help one another, major plus.

Years of research for a good mid range reasonable budget coastal and live aboard vessel always brings me back to gen 2 ericsons. not sure if that counts for anything
