1957 Block Island 40 Project

So after a week of living aboard and looking for work I was hired on to help finish this classic! It's been on the hard for 3 1/2 years and has been resurrected from sure death. I will be doing most of the woodwork and will also team up with the glass guy, electrician, plumber and riggers to get this beauty on the water by summer.

There has been sooooo much work done already and I come in at the right time to get er done! This will be my official thread of progress and will update daily and post pics as she nears one helluva party when she gets christened.

My primary role will be to fit some cabinets and nav station that is being built offsite, fabricate all the teak trim and fabricate the teak and maple; yes you heard right, teak and maple sole. And of course their will be more things I will be helping to install when needed.

I am super excited to get started on Monday and to have been welcomed to be apart of this historic re-fit.

Markus

Hi Markus,

We are also in the process of restoring our Block Island 40.

How is your project going?

Love those old Tripp designs. Look forward to seeing pictures of the boat as you progress.

When in college we had a Block Island 40 in South Jersey. What a fun boat. Perkins diesel... not so much. That's how I learned to sail in and out of the slip!
