Frankly, I would have preferred leaving two (or more) dents if Maltese Falcon got in my way ( and take note that at the time of contact, the Falcon was on a port tack and the smaller mono on starboard, both under sail).

210:, Mono's have a 50% less chance of hitting anything.... logs, containers, otherboats.

211…..Mono Owner’s understand the over-riding concept within the rules to “avoid” a collision.
Curious though….how would a cat have faired if it T-boned MF the same way?......obviously at a higher speed....

Cats have two claws....therefore two damaged areas.
Looked to me like the mono insisted on his racing rights....COLREGS be damned!

Mono's go so slow they don't even leave a dent. Which is just as well since apparently mono skippers are vision impared. Maltese Falcon isn't exactly small.

A cat would have crossed at least a hundred metres in front of MF.

212 mono's can veer either side to let the bow side past the obstacle, don't have to worry about the bridge deck hitting anything
213 if your mono bridge deck is damaged in a collision, your really know that sailing is over for the day

214 - If you have a bi-rig cat you end up with 2 monos if you wipe out the bridgedeck.
215 - Everyone knows you can't make a multi without a mono but you can make a mono by itself.
216 - Monos don't have to make up for shortcomings by attaching an extra mono.
217 - A cat is probably as good as 2 monos.

Final nail in the Mono Coffin
I dont spill my beer while sailing a cat.
I have full house sized queen (King on the newie) beds for having fun in,
cupboard sex never did it for me [-;
End of discussion, multis win, chicks dig 'em

218 - When you stock the boat you never have to decide between chicks, beer or ice because of "weight" issues.
219 - Boat sex - the boat does the rolling around for you...

Obviously my berths were oriented the wrong way, rolled out more than in They were still like a cupboard/coffin to sleep in
The er, cockpit was a far better place, but privacy was an issue as I could never get far enough away from the crowds on a weekend

Gotta have chicks, who else would change the sails, pull up the anchor, do the washing up and of course get the beers.
Stinky blokes just dont do it for me in bed either
