Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Hi all,
I am desperately looking to buy this Russian chart of the Southern Ocean which i found in 2017 onboard a Russian icebreaker (see file attached).
I have been extensively searching for it in the web, but with no success.
Do you guys know where i can buy this chart? Is any of you able to point me in the right direction? Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you,
Giuseppe

Re: Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Nope, but it is very similar to the Admiralty Chart 4009 which is widely available.

Re: Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Looks like a rip-off of BA4009 - does it need to be in Russian?

Re: Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Yep, i'm looking for exactly the same chart in Russian. The 4009 is very similar, but not really what i am looking for. No idea where to find Russian nautical charts, so i was hoping that someone from Russia would be able to help me out here. Thanks a lot for your help though, really appreciated it!

They are not hard to find in general, but that particular one is
It's not in the nearly 6000 thousand Russian nautical charts here:

Re: Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Besides in Russian, what are looking for that you know is not on admiralty or noaa chart?
I have a number of other Russian charts that overlay noaa perfectly.
also- if on a Russian icebreaker, it may be a restricted chart. Therefore, look locally for a Russian registered commercial or naval vessel-

Re: Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Yes, the chart is indeed very similar to the NGA90 ( https://www.landfallnavigation.com/n...ntarctica.html), although it doesn't look exactly the same...plus i am actually specifically looking for the Russian one (in Russian).
The icebreaker was a resupply/scientific vessel (Akademik Tryoshnikov), so nothing to do with military ships. I doubt they had restricted charts on-board, plus that one was wide open on the chart table, and i also took a picture of it...

So, the KGB now knows you took a picture of their highly classified, top secret chart. What could go wrong?

If it was a picture of the complete chart you should be able to download it and get a full size chart printed.

Re: Southern Ocean Russian paper chart
Also the paranoia level appears to increasing with the Russians lately and you are probably already getting yourself onto a list somewhere.
