So, you've had enough of swaying palm trees, low lying scrub covered islands, crowded, polluted anchorages that resemble a watery trailer park and beachside potlucks prepared in questionable galleys? There is an alternative to the North for the hearty of soul, the lovers of solitude and rebels without a cause. Here's a stunning video from Hornsund to Bear Island that offers a viable alternative to Southern cruising. Hope you enjoy! http://youtu.be/7wNHQeiI4-Y

North of 75 degrees north? Viable? Is this going to be another global warming thread?
D,
I hope not since this is a beautiful nature film with no political overtones or implications whatsoever. There are many on this Forum who have travelled to these areas as well as those who plan to visit them in the future. Enjoy it for what it is. Best, R

Re: So . . . You've Had Enough of Palm Trees?
Thanks for that video. Very nice.
A couple of years ago I had ambitions to visit Disko Bay, but stooped short at Battle Harbor. I could have gotten there well enough, but couldn't see coming back single handed. Just too damn cold down the Labradore Current. Brrrr.
