Saglek to Iqaluit

Im interested in going from Saglek in the Torngats to Iqaluit Either May or June if anyone is going that way I would love to make an arrangement??? I thought this forum would maybe help. If anyone can help me out with more info let me know!!

I have been to those latitudes but further west, along Hudson Bay. Amazing country. Have eaten seals and whales and caribou. Funny, most people who consider themselves well traveled have never been so far away from the equator. Things are more different when you go north south than when you go east west. Good luck on your trip!

It appears to me that even in June there will be a lot of sea ice to contend with.

Saglek doesn't open until early to mid July. Operations in the Torngat Mountains National Park Base Camp and Research Station which is located in St John's Harbour in Saglek doesn't start until late July which is when we know it opens. The camp is operated by the Nunatsiavut Government. Weekly charter flights go to the Saglek airstrip located at the Saglek radar station on Saturdays and it is possible to book onto these flights if they have room. I have lots more information about this area if you want because I have spent the last 11 summers consulting at the camp for Parks Canada.....
