Cleveland to Newfoundland

Anyone ever cruised out of the St Lawrence along the coast of Quebec and Labrador. Thinking about it for next year. Any pointers would be helpful.
I've heard that the Straits of Belle Isle currents can be tricky and that sometimes ice can block the passage over the northern tip of Newfoundland.
