At this point my attitude is IBG/YBG entrenched international corporate extractive profit models have screwed us. I don't care if you disagree. It's too late, get over it, and enjoy your last years.....

More than likely (I'll be gone, you'll be gone).

I don't happen to agree. We likely can't change the physical situation, but there is hope to setup policies for future generations. On a smaller scale, as a society have made progress on social issues like drinking and driving and smoking (vaping not withstanding).
So I think there still is hope.

In his book, “The Accidental Investment Banker”, Jonathan Knee introduced the phrase “IBG YBG”, which means “I’ll be gone. You’ll be gone.” This might be whispered between investment bankers when an inconvenient fact comes to light during due diligence on a company they are about to float. “Don’t sweat it” is the implication. Investors may be burned. The investment bank itself may be burned, but by then, the bankers themselves will have cashed their bonuses and be long gone.

“IBGYBG is still a fairly new saying, used mostly within the American financial sector. However, as more people become aware of this saying, don't be surprised if it gets applied to other sociopaths.”

Sadly, some politicians don't have the courage to make changes along with some governments, or you have idiots at the head of the government who keep a blind eye so corporate profits aren't hurt by environmental green measures.

I'm of the persuasion also that we are doomed. Most of our measures are re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The only thing I can think of that would have a great result is population reduction, I mean major population reduction.

When the Chinese introduced their one child policy, I thought they were nuts, now I think they were geniuses.

Too many "in it for themselves" individuals, corporations, governments and nations.
