My wife and I were traveling the world when the Coronavirus crisis forced us to come home. We had planned on traveling the world until we got tired of it. We're currently hunkered down in
San Diego but need to come up with a plan for when things open up to travel again. We can go anywhere in the world for the right sailing opportunity.
- Are there going to be lots of opportunities for crew when travel does open up?
- Other than
posting here, what are some good places to find crew opportunities (without
membership fees)?
- What does a great "crew available"
posting look like?
- What tips can you share to increase our odds of getting on someone's sailboat?
- We're are both 60, fit, healthy and even though we could run circles around your average millennial, is our age an obstacle?
- We took
ASA courses but have not been on the
water that much, is this an obstacle?
- Our goal is to get enough sailing experience then get our own sailboat, does knowing this help our case to get more crew opportunities?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
May we all survive this nightmare and continue our adventures.
Stay save everyone.
