Share a charter

Hi all,

We're looking to share a charter sometime in March or April, 2017 from Antigua. We're a husband and wife, new to sailing, currently living in Jolly Harbor, Antigua through end of April. Our Bareboat Cruising certification received in January, 2016 doesn't qualify us to charter ourselves here (apparently it's good for the Moorings bareboat charters in the BVI) so are seeking more experienced sailors who want to impart some knowledge as well as enjoy the company of another couple and share expenses. We'd be interested in a 7 - 10 day charter from Antigua (Horizon Yacht Charters operate out of Jolly Harbor), possibly visiting Guadeloupe during that time. We have a 2bed/2 1/2 bath villa rented for the season, and would be happy to host anyone coming to the island pre- and post-charter. Again, any time in March (except the last week) and April up to the 20th.

Re: Share a charter

Tony,

Unfortunately, February won't work for us as we have guests visiting until the 23rd.

Horizon Yacht Charters in Jolly Harbor is who we inquired through. Prices were roughly $3500 USD for a week on a 40' monohull, slightly more for similar-sized catamaran. For $150/day you can hire a captain, if you're unqualified to handle the boat yourself (as we would have to do).

Antigua would certainly be sunny and warm at that time. It's considered "high season", until end of April, so prices are a bit higher then other times of year.
