Thumbs up Re: san francisco to los angeles

Good Evening xxhat,
I am Pluto Brown. I saw your post in search of crew to give you a hand with bringing a boat down from San Fran to Los Angeles. I am definitely up to help ya out. I am a Los Angeles native, though I am currently down in Saint Martin rebuilding after Irma. My flight back to Los Angeles lands on the 4th so time lines up for us both there. I would really like a couple days in LA to take care of a few important things one of them being my taxes, and then I am ready to rock. So if anytime afterrr, the 7th works for you, I would be more than happy to soak up any and all of the knowledge I can from you & your 25yrs of experience. I have racked up about 3,000 sea miles to date, and one delivery, though none of this was in California or the Pacific. All of this is verifiable and I can provide references should you wish to contact them. At any rate, I hope to hear from you soon.
Fair Winds & Warm Waters,
P.B.

Re: san francisco to los angeles

Thanks to all who respond. Will contact you shortly.

There are a couple of scenarios.

1. Good weather window so may a run of it for ventura, california to san francisco. This should take 48 to 60 hours at most.

2. Do it in stages. One run to monterey. This will take 30 odd hours.
Then wait for weather window and go monterey to ventura, ca. This should take 30 to 48 hours.

Thanks again,

jim

If the weather is anything like this week, be very familiar with the second reef setup!

Re: san francisco to los angeles

I may be able to make it if the trip coincides with my schedule. Can you provide a more concrete schedule such as departure time & date, how many intended stop-overs, night sailing or only day sailing etc. Thanks.

Re: san francisco to los angeles

I would like to leave around early may depending on weather.

My schedule however is flexible to fit around the crew. The trip will involve at least one overnight sail.

It may be straight through from San Francisco to Ventura or with one stop over in Monterey then to Ventura. The section from Ventura to Marina del Rey I can do myself if need be.

So any crew is welcome to join for all or part of the trip. as mentioned this is unpaid but I will cover all boat expenses and food.
