Sailing friend/Partner

Hi, I am hopping to find a like minded female person that would like to sail with me. My wife and I had plans of sailing around the world again, But Motor Neurons Disease took her and those plans away.
I still want to do this adventure but not alone.

I am 60+ and have extensive sailing history.
At this stage I am Living in New Zealand.

So if this kind of adventure is for you drop me a line and we will move from there. Ivan

Sorry for your loss, Ivan.
I don't fit the req's, but just wanted to commend you on carrying on with your adventure, despite the devastating change of plans. Safe travels!

I posted this before and was given a 24 hour box penalty for spamming. Not sure why, but it's a legit single sailors' site. LoveSail

I may be interested. Currently in Fiji, watching sailboats and after sailing last summer through Portugal, kind of got the bug again. Have you got a FB page?

Re: Sailing friend/Partner

We are a New Zealand family looking to transit from California to New Zealand. Willing to pay for passage and act as crew.

Willing to leave at any time.

If you sail to CA we would be happy to sail back to NZ with you.

We are also looking for advice on the passage as we will buy a boat and make the passage ourselves if we can’t find someone to take us. If you have a boat suitable for the trip that can be delivered to California let us know.

I have a close friend in New Zealand riding out this epidemic. Where are you docked? I would like to get to know you and see if this might be a possibility. I am sorry for your loss.

Re: Sailing friend/Partner

Hi Ivan
I have just joined this sight when I saw your add for a first mate I have some experience in sailing cats and motor cruisers I was going to travel with a friend in his cat however after twelve months of trying we just couldn't get it together.
To sail for long time together you really need to get along. be on the same page so to speak.
I'm living in melb and would be prepared to come to NZ ( been there many times) however this mess the world is in might not be for some time.
You can drop me a line at cbellw@optusnet.com.au
cheers Tie

Re: Sailing friend/Partner

Hello Ivan, so sorry to hear about your wife. I am based in Taupo and have recently got back into sailing this summer. I have extensive sailing experience in both monohulls and multihulls, including 5 Atlantic crossings and spent three years cruising with young children, many moons ago! Our last boat was a Northshore Freebird 50 catamaran. I am very keen to crew here in NZ waters but ultimately looking to sail further afield. I would be very keen to chat. My email is jeanrussell50@gmail.com. Look forward to hearing from you, Jean
