Sailing Catamaran - Ensenada, Mexico to Panama

Hi guys, I am looking for crew on a sailing catamaran to go down from Ensenada to Panama and then possibly to S. Pacific. I will pay for all fees related to the trip, gas, and the basics for living including food and water. I expect the crew to assist with watch keeping, sail handling, cooking, and other related duties. Beginners welcome! This would be a great adventure for beginners sailors to experienced sailors!

If interested, please PM me and let me know your experience and availability, thanks!

No set date yet, it would depend on a few things including the crew and their availability.

Check my bio. 40 years cooking. I can provision your boat and prepare meals. I also have skills for maintenance and general crew work. What is your timeframe for leaving? Once on board, I'm in it to win it.

I am expressing interest. I will get my first Covid Vacination on Feb 25, 2021. The second shot is not scheduled. If you are leaving 2 weeks after my second Covid vacination I am interested. I crewed on a sailboat that left Portland, Ore, went down the Columbia River, up the west coast of Washington State, in the Straight of San Juan de Fucha, to Anacortes, WA. I had a 22 foot Catalina that I sailed on a reservoir near where we live. If this is of interest my email is DeerWood9323@yahoo.com.

1. How big is your boat? Make? Model?

2. How many crew are you looking for?
3. What is your experience?
4. What is your time frame? Are you looking to do the trip to Panama non-stop or are you thinking of just moseying down?

(I've done that trip with Scorpius - at least as far as Panama and there are many places enroute that it would be a shame to skip).

When are you going? I'm a well vaccinated USCG Master who has 50 years experience in cats and monos in the Caribbean, French Polynesia, Whitsundays, Belize and Hawaii.

Re: Sailing Catamaran - Ensenada, Mexico to Panama

Thanks everyone for all the replies! Here are some more details. The boat is currently being constructed in Tijuana. It is a Richard Woods Flica 34' catamaran (Sailing Catamarans - Flica 34 - 10.4m family ocean cruiser).

It is very difficult to give an accurate estimate of the completion of the boat, but I am aiming for end of 2021 but more likely 2022.

It will not be a nonstop trip, most likely will be making stops, there is no hard timeline.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions!

Tijuana has no sea access for boats. How are you building in TJ vs Ensenada?

Also if anyone is interested in boat building and would like to be involved in the actual process of building the boat send me a PM! This would be a rare and unique learning opportunity to learn how to build a boat especially if you have any interest in building your own one day!

You’re looking for crew for a boat you haven’t even built yet?

Hola - I am a qualified and seasoned sailor, US citizen, good cook. Many years of cruising experience, and most recently owned and operated a 45' catamaran on the West coast of Costa Rica. My Spanish is adequate, I dive and fish, and get along with most. Your trip sounds interesting, and I have the time. Contact me at [URL="captainbryon@gmail.com".
