Need Crew For Bahamas Cruising

Looking for an individual or couple to crew aboard well maintained 60' motor yacht to Abacos, Exumas and Turks & Caicos from November '18 to May '19. Port of departure is Key West.

This is an unpaid position. Personal expenses will be born by each party.

Must be nonsmoker, not allergic to cats (one will be aboard), not be a drug user, have a valid passport, be reliable and in good health.

Cocktails while at anchor or in port are another matter

Ideal crewmember will have experience handling a boat of that size and type, be familiar with diesel engines, be a certified/experienced diver and be easy to get along with.

Cheers

Re: Need Crew For Bahamas Cruising

If I wasn't headed to Asia I'd be seriously interested in this trip as I just got back from sailing in the Bahamas and have done Florida, The Bahamas, The Turks and Caicos, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico a few years ago.

I'll reach out in the future.

Safe travels.

Dear Goin,

I am a retired Elementary School Principal with some sailing experience and basic qualifications. I do not have mechanical or navigational experience but I am healthy and sensible. If you are looking for crew during January 2019, let me know.
Cheers,

Bob Almas

Re: Need Crew For Bahamas Cruising

May I contact you via email, please.
I'm from Canada and have sailed south several time, delivering boats, both sail and power.
I have my own 36' sailboat and was thinking of doing the Bahamas, but this just might be the right fit. I love to swim, snorkel, fish, sail / power, cook and be a solar panel. Many marine certifications might make me the idea candidate.
Perhaps this can be the beginning.
Please email me at eavisw@ns.sympatico.ca

If you haven't yet signed someone on I'm still available.
Forgot mention that I've been diving regularly (~100 dives / yr) since 1976, yep, 1976.
No drugs, no BS, no politics, reliable and qualified. Super easy going and love the waters down south. No time restraints and no baggage. No passport issues either!
Super interested and available. Can fly down a few days before to get the lay of the land.
Consider me please.
Thx.

Re: Need Crew For Bahamas Cruising

Hello,
I am Paolo, an italian guy who likes to travel. I'd like to try a boat experience since I'm a goal-oriented person, eager to learn the sail. My intention was never to travel for free, I volunteer my time to help the crew with their works. I would learn the sailing and offer my support in exchange for helping, taking a guard duty, cooking, cleaning and boat maintenance. I do not drink or smoke, but I don't mind others doing so. I can cook italian food and teach you italian or just entertain you with my stories. I have never sailed, I don't know the basics but I learn fast. I'm currently in Miami and I'm trying a sailing chance for Caribbean or anywhere.
I'd like to join the crew and I'm happy to offer my energy services as a sidekick deckhand.
I should be so grateful to him if you could give me this fresh experience.
Thank you all in advance!
Could I know if you found your crew for this ride ?
Thanks

Re: Need Crew For Bahamas Cruising

Hi my name is Amanda Billotti. I'm 25 and a marine scientist. I saw your ad on Cruisers Forum for Voluntary Crew. I've lived in a few interesting places and traveled around a bit, so I'm used to living in small, shared spaces. I also lived and worked on an 80ft sharpie schooner with captain and crew for a season. I love all things above and below the water. I'm looking to do a transit. I want more sea time, but mostly I want to get to the warmer weather! I'm currently in the NY/NJ area but willing to leave at any moment. I have no restrictions aside from traveling to Australia for my masters program at the end of February. If you are interested in having me as part of your journey, please feel free to call me at (732) 865-4008 or email me.

Thank you,
Amanda Billotti
