Crew Wanted: Mac 65 moving from Solomon Islands MD to Florida

Sailboat moving from Solomon Islands to Florida, short trip, it's going to have to be outside as too tall for the cut. Anyone interested in joining owner on this trip is welcome.

Short Trip? You mean 4 1/2 days averaging 6 kts. That's to Jacksonville 650 NMs straight courses just outside the shoals; where I have an apartment overlooking the river at a deep protected anchorage behind exchange Island. R&R for a couple days before the next leg???

When I saw the title I had a vision of someone in the SI wanting to get away from the recent turmoil in the streets. Going via the Red Sea makes most sense to me. Getting to late in the year for South Africa.

We went through all this a while back when he made his first plea for crew. This time, however, he added "MD" in the title, and that should help one realize that he is referring to some spot in the state of Maryland in the USA.

This is yet another case of folks failing to realize that CF is an international forum, and that to many of us Solomon Islands lie in the equatorial Pacific waters, north of Oz and east of PNG... hell of a long way from Florida!

"Solomons Island" (singular) - is a port about half-way (100 miles) up the Chesapeake Bay from it's mouth at the Atlantic.

It is, no doubt, a confusing name for anyone outside the area...

Might just change the posting to "Chesapeake Bay to Florida."

Yes you are all losing it, I have spent a few months in Solomons, MD and I am looking at the road signs, for you all and it says Solomons. Nr California which is not LA either, but in MD. Which is about 50 miles south of annapolis where the boat show was held.
I will be there this week-end I will take a picture of the road signs for you all.
