A little about me -
Early 40's, live in the Northern suburbs of Atlanta.
Former nuclear mechanic
in the Navy
Quite a bit of time on powerboats over the years.
Have some limited sailing experience (some 16 ft hobie cats at resorts mostly and a little bit when I was a kid).
Have done courses for learning
(ASA 101/103/104 so far) on boats from 22-39 ft.
What I'm looking for:
Opportunities to continue learning
and sailing. Friendly and non-judgemental environment
preferred (if you're looking for a racing
crew that already knows everything and won't make mistakes
, I'm probably not the person you need).
Unfortunately, Key West
and other longer-trips aren't really in my scheduled as I work
My weekends are mostly free, so I could come help crew anywhere close by, i.e.:
Maybe further for the right weekend trips (Pensacola is ~5 hours away, so would need to be something cool to be worth the trip)?
I've considered just renting
, but I think most places want more than a single-hander taking their boats out, so crewing
is the next best option.
