Hey there , my wife and I are entertaining the idea of finding a
family who wants to do some cruising but doesn't have a
boat of their own yet. The ideal candidates would be on the younger side with small
children.
We are 30 and 27 years old , and have a 3 year old girl and 5 year old boy.
We are hoping to find a situation that will help our
kids socialize with other
kids, and occasionally give us a chance to do things as a couple again, like dive and surf together. As well as helping some financially, and with
maintenance , night/anchor watches ECT.
We are low
budget cruisers who
work a few months out of year to sustain our sailing habits , we have just spent the last 4 months working and are getting ready to
head back to the
boat in the
sea of Cortez. We are undecided where to go for the summer
hurricane season, either north in
sea of Cortez, possibly up the
Baja and
California coast , or maybe
Hawaii to the
Pacific northwest. What do you think?
The boat would probably be considered safe and
seaworthy by some. It's equipped with all of the modern cruising
gear ,
water maker ,
liferaft , redundant autopilots , ECT the boat it's self is a tank,
full keel solid heavy
fiberglass.
Mast,
rigging , and
sails are in top shape. She holds about 300 gallons of
Diesel and 300 gallons of
water.
The boat is stuffed full of tools , spare
parts, and toys so living space is a bit cramped for a 53' boat .
We have owned the boat for 8 years and know her very well. We have sailed
California to
Mexico a couple times and know the area well. But we are ready to keep moving.
We are open to a long term situation if everything works out well, we are hoping to find people who may motivate us to go places we might not go on our own.... So if your interested please tell us a bit about yourself
