Sheesh. Anybody who thinks that the OP was hateful is, well, overreacting.

I once took crew who talked incessantly about god and how everything that happened to them was god's plan, on and on and on with god. Then came the inevitable attempt to convert me to this same line of thinking. I guess this would properly be called evangelizing.

Well, that's fine, and I don't hate them for doing so, but this individual will never leave the dock on my boat again. I just don't want to hear it.

So, there you go. I understand the position completely. No hate, just no interest in fending off someone pushing their point of view on me.

I assume this is what is trying to be avoided. Fair enough.
