I seek to sail on a boat I am in Montreal

Hello!

I seek to flee the tyranny of Canada and sail the rest of my life
and maybe find a tropical paradise to help me spend time.
I'm retiree (50 years old)

in any tropical paradise where I can be. I wish to sail with someone
who seeks a crew. I can do food, clean and also learn the ropes about sailing using a sail / boat.

I am in Montreal. if you wish to discuss this further with me,
do not hesitate to contact me.

Daniel.

Welcome to the forum, Daniel. It may be time for you to take some sailing lessons and hang around DIY yards being useful.

IDK; if Canada is a tyranny, where is it better? A lot of whacky rules in "paradise".

You don't need a sailboat to flee from Canada. The borders are open to anyone with a passport and the price of an airline ticket. Faced with such a tyrannical country, I'd assume you want to get out as fast, and as efficiently as possible.

Thank you all for your comments. My mind is set to sail and eventually if luck is on my side, finding a small island in the south, away from civilization for a couple of years sounds great.

There's a sail charter agency in LeMoyne -- which you might skateboard over to in good weather. That agency is NAVTOURS and they operate charter services on both L. Champlain from Plattsburg and in the Exumas (and probably elsewhere) but they move their boats, I understand, between the two. I chartered a boat "bare" from them a few years ago on Champlain, and I saw a great mix skill, experience and talents amongst their people. I know there aren't a great many Loick Peyrons or Moistessiers in the World but those charter folks seemed capable and happy !

Well, they are a bit whacky, in a good way. When there's a bunch of Canadians and Americans hanging out together, who comes up with "the idea that sounded good at the time"? A Canadian. Where did Bob and Doug McKenzie come from? Canada.

Who eats Katchup flavored potato chips? Canadians. But wait, there's more! https://www.thetravel.com/20-serious...pen-in-canada/

Yep, they are a bit whacky, but we love 'em.

We've been ice boating on this side of the lake. We don't say "eh" but otherwise we're pretty much Canadian. Not like NYC where they hate iceboats and fear snow tires.

P.S. Canada, quit sending snow, it's ruining our ice.
