Hawaii to remote Pacific

I am currently in Hawaii preparing the boat for a trip to the South Pacific. There is no set departure date. The route I am planning on taking will emphasize the less visited island groups and will avoid the beaten path or "milk run." There still are a handful of islands that through a combination of luck and circumstance have managed to retain some semblance of a traditional culture and not be completely dominated by westernization. These destinations do not have airports, have infrequent supply ship visits and experience few other yachts.

Skipper has logged over 70,000 miles in the last ten years which includes a singlehanded circumnavigation (below Africa and Panama canal).

Share expenses.

You should already be in Hawaii or are going to be soon so that you can come and leisurely check things out. Hopefully help with boat preparation as well and cruise within Hawaii as a trial.

Boat specs and my sailing resume available at sailingonpilgrim.wordpress.com. Circumnavigation blog - www.lucidsalt.blogspot.com References from persons that have sailed with me can be found by digging around in my couchsurfing profile, Jonas Collins.

Aloha,
Which island are you on? I would be interested in joining you if you're still in search, or at least talk story for a bit.

EDIT: Looking at your profile I see you're on the big island (still?) I'm up in waimea/Kamuela, go ahead and email me if you want at ryancrankin-at-gmail.com

I am new to the site. I am interested in sailing the S PAC. My experience has been limited to sailing and anchoring in the channel islands, California in a Downeaster 38, and now that I am retired I am trying to expand horizons.

Re: Hawaii to remote Pacific

It is looking like I will do a cruise in the Hawaiian chain first starting about the end of the first week in May. Begin on the big island and end up in Hanalei on Kauai.
