for Atlantic crossing 19/20

My name is Mauro, I'm 28 years old and coming from Switzerland. Last week my journey around the world started.

I took the train from Bern and now I'm in Alicante. My dream is to cross the Atlantic without any emissions, to learn more about seamanship and to live with nature. After graduating, I worked as an accountant to save money for my dream. Now the time has come, I quit my job, my flat to go on the biggest adventure of my life.

I am eager to learn more about seamanship, sailing, the ocean, other cultures and so on. As I have nearly no experience in sailing, I would like to gain some experience in de Med, around Canaries or on the way to Cab Verde to test my seaworthiness and to learn more about sailing. I'm willing to give a hand where I can (cooking, cleaning, watches/steering/navigation). I speak German (native language, English, Spanish & French.

I am an adventurous, sporty, open-minded, uncomplicated, tidy & clean guy who loves the sea (surfing, diving PADI open water etc.). Moreover, I love to be in nature such as hiking, camping, biking... Last but not least, I also really enjoy just to read a good book.

Actually, I am now on my way along the coast to Huelva/Cadiz. There I'm gonna take the ferry to the Canaries, if I don't find a boat before. But in fact I'm open to every plan changes... I spent allready some time on boats (once around 50 hours) and I'm pretty sure I will not gonna get seasick. But you never know, and that's why I have some medicaments with me and why I would like to test it before I go for the passage.

Furthermore, for sure I'm willing to contribute for the journey.

I hope to get a chance, at least for some daily trips to gain some experience.
