Hi Bernie - I stuck the post below, for easy reading. Note that there are a lot of guys your age who have more or less settled here. If you were willing, and we thought you were a good fit for the
boat, you could take this
cruise, stay for a while on the
boat, get a feel for the country and perhaps start anew in the
Philippines. I have been around a long time and could help orient you. The below is not a job offer, as we can only offer free
food, and
beer while aboard; however, if you are interested in trying to make a living here doing boat deliveries etc., I can point you in the right direction. Check my post below, and good luck in all future endeavors.
Sailing Cebu Philippines to Siargao
Hello,
Will be sailing south around April 1, from Cebu to Bohol, visiting some beautiful little islands off the coast for snorkeling,
diving,
fishing, etc. Then we
head over to Leyte and possibly some whale watching. Will explore the relatively unknown islands around Dinagat, Bucas Grande and other pristine spots on the way to Siargao - surfing capital of the Philippines.
Will take maybe 15 days or more to leisurely meander our way SE, depending on what we find along the way,
weather, and like concerns.
Boat will stay in Siargao for a few months exploring all around the island and spending significant time surfing the lesser known breaks. Crew could possibly stay aboard during the entire Siargao stay.
Specific itinerary is rather flexible, so crew will be able to have some input in that regard.
Should be a fun trip, so PM me if interested.
Best to all,
G2L
