I've finally made the jump. After tons of planning, I've quit my job and started traveling with the ultimate goal of
crewing on sailboats.
My name is Frank. 52, US citizen, currently located in
Italy through end of July. I'm looking for
crewing opportunities almost anywhere.
Would ideally start end of July-ish.
I'm not looking for a
vacation. I'm looking to learn and experience as much as possible. I know a
boat costs
money and a crew position takes up valuable space. As a
newbie, I know I have lots to prove. Can provide non-sailing
references from my professional life. I'm willing to contribute to the cruising kitty.
Qualifications:
- I've taken ASA 101 basic keelboat, 103 basic coastal, 104 bareboat cruising and 105 navigation. Classes are just a license to learn and mean very little on their own.
- I'm very handy. There's always something to do on a boat.
- Take up very little space.
- Work well with multiple personalities (I only have one).
- Can provide my own gear if needed.
- Previously wilderness first responder certified (not current).
My dream boat would be an
aluminum lifting
keel sailboat as I'm interested in high latitude sailing- but I'll appreciate anything I get.
Thanks in advance guys.
Frank
