Hi Swimmingbird. Looking for an experienced, fit, sailor to help sail our Joshua 12 meter,
steel, double ender, sailboat from PVR
Mexico to South
Korea ( via Hawaii) this
winter 24/25. I seek professional
advice on
provisioning,
Open CPN, shooting approaches and port
communications,
AIS, navigation and
celestial navigation (we have a Tamaya
sextant on board and almanac) best sail trim, using a
spinnaker, using a drifter, heavy
weather sailing techniques, keeping a proper look out, weather sense, etc, etc. This trip planned as a shake down before arctic
cruise and
learning platform for the same. I seek a focused professional to teach me aspects I do not already know and get the
cruise done safely. I can fix pretty much anything.
Boat is in good shape. I am a long distance adventurer who crossed the Rub Al Khali desert with a skeleton team and two, old, self prepared British Army Land Rovers a few years back. There is a
budget but it is not unlimited.
Project is 13 years old and has been done at the same time as raising
family.
